25 Comments on Even thinking about looking for a home got you depressed in Beaverton? Then you haven’t met us!
I've heard of to many first time home buyers who don't want to even buy a home because of a nightmare story from a friend and that is what hurts.

Hi Todd,
Friendly?
Making the experience fun?
But the housing market is depressed.
Sellers are depressed.
Most realtors are depressed.
You said friendly?
Making it fun?
Phil
Todd,
Real estate is fun! With the right agent!
I remember our first home. Brenda was teaching she rushed to my office the we took both cars to her home, drooped hers and rushed 80 miles to meet our REALTOR, my friend John. We drove by one house, toured two then went to the Lamp Lighter Lounge and wrote an offer on the first house. Brenda and I ordered dinner, John came back 45 minutes later we'd bought our first house. That was a Wednesday evening we closed 10 days later late Friday afternoon. I took Brenda back to her car much slower, no faster than 80mph. She went to tell her parents, they didn't believe her,
It was indeed fun! Life was moving to fast to be anything but fun.

PS: Love the photo, now we know what happens when a monkey and skunk mate,
It is a good business and one in which you need to be the friend the customers can turn to. If it's not friendly, it's not good either for you or your business.
Todd, the agent can control all of the emotions in the transaction, whether buying or selling. We set the tone, and let the clients go along with us, and hopefully it will be a good experience.
Love this...cute adorable pix of course, but you are right...so often we only hear the gloom and doom about our industry....it is fun!!
Great points Todd. But tell me; did the monkey have a bad agent? Because he looks a little depressed.
It took me a minute to figure out that that was in the photo. A wig? A skunk? I guess I needed my morning coffee!
Todd, yeah! Making it fun for them is what it's all about - and you have to be really good at what you do to pass the fun test with your clients.
Fun, Todd do you think I could pull this off at some point in my career? lol
Todd,
Seriously, it should not be depressing. The buyers I was just out with today offered to let me move in with them:-) We have had a blast looking for homes. Life is good, it should be as much fun as possible.
All the best, Michelle
Todd - Buying a home can be a great experience and even fun, IF you have the right Realtor like yourself.
Todd...I always LOVE your photos!!! I think this post should be a great one for you with the buyers... I like your slogan tool..
Todd,
Well after reading your blogs and meeting you personally I can say whole heartedly that you would be the agent of choice for me!
Real estate IS fun and having the right to go through homes is something I have always enjoyed! As a kid I used to go through homes with my mother, she was always knocking on somebody's door and asking to see inside! Usually she found some antique nobody wanted and she was able to purchase it and bring it home.
Hi Todd,
Reading your blog, if I were a buyer I would call and give you guys a try.
Nice promotional piece.
Have a fabulous weekend!
Hi Todd - I love this message! You have exactly the right philosophy. I try to give my clients an enjoyable experience - it helps them to deal with what can be a stressful time.
I love your illustration. That monkey is beautiful, but does look depressed.
Todd, at first I did not what kind of animal was in the photo...my eyesight is getting worse with age :-) Yes real estate should be fun, but every once in a while a nasty buyer and/or seller slips in.
Todd -- It really bothers me when I meet people and they tell me their real estate 'horror' story. The whole process of buying or selling should not be that way, but many times it is. I've done a lot of damage control through the years. I can certainly tell you have the right attitude and approach. You're the kind of agent I would want to be working with!
