Helping New Yorkers Reduce Home Energy Costs with NYSERDA
Many of New York's homes, particularly those more than 20 years old, have inefficient heating and cooling systems and lack proper insulation and are drafty. These problems mean you are probably paying more than you should to heat and cool your home. By making your home more energy efficient you can save money and have the additional benefits of a safer, and more comfortable home to live in.
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is a public benefit corporation whose goal it is to help New Yorkers increase energy efficiency and save money on their energy costs by providing information, technical expertise and innovative programs.
Through the Home Performance With ENERGY STAR Program,
- you can schedule a free or reduced-cost comprehensive home assessment (energy audit).
- A Building Perfromance Institute (BPI) Accredited Contractor is then sent to perform the home energy audit.
- Your home gets inspected and assessed to see where you're wasting energy
- Recommendations for improvements are made.
NYSERDA makes low-interest loans available to assist with these improvement costs and if you are income-eligible you can receive up to 50% off the cost of the improvement up to a max of $5000.
Take advantage of these low interest loans and cash-back incentives. Find out how you can participate.
Stop wasting energy and start enjoying the benefits of increased energy efficiency. Get energy smart now!
