Bring Market Stats Directly to Facebook with Altos Research

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with RealSupport Inc.

For those of you who don’t know, Altos Research is a service that creates weekly market statistics reports with the most up to date real estate data in the industry. Many real estate agents use it when they publish their daily, weekly, or monthly market stats to their website or blog. It gives their community up-to-date market statistics on their geographic area, and then every Monday the stats automatically update. You come off as an expert on your area’s market without having to compile these stats yourself. Now, Altos Research has a Facebook application that allows you to create up-to-date charts of the most recent market stats, type a short synopsis of what the chart means, and post them to your wall, all in a matter of five minutes.

While adding community events and news updates is an essential part of maintaining your Facebook business page, so is keeping your community informed about the current state of your local real estate market. The Altos Research application gives you the tools you need to update your fan base about what the latest market stats are for your geographic area whenever you’d like. It adds relevant real estate information to your page that your fans will relate to and want to see, since it’s local. Once again, Facebook has created a user-friendly application that is easy to set-up and use. The only drawback is that you need an Altos Research account in order to use their Facebook application. If you’re a loyal Altos User, this is how you set-up the Altos Research application:

1. Log in to your Facebook account.
2. Go to the following link: http://apps.facebook.com/altos_agents/?ref=ts
3. When the disclaimer comes up asking for Altos Research to have access to your profile, click “Allow.”
4. A field will come up asking you to log in to your Altos Research account. Enter your login information and press Enter.
5. On the left side of the screen, it will come up that you are logged in as your account. After you do this once, every time you access the application from your page it will automatically log in to your Altos account as well.
You’ll see a graph and options for domains on the side. You’ve successfully added the Altos Research application!

Another fantastic aspect of this application is that it is, once again, incredibly user-friendly. All you have to do is enter the data you want into the domain fields on the right side of the page, and the application wizard creates a chart you want to share with your Facebook community! You simply select the town you want to create a chart for in your geographic area, and then you can choose to make a chart reflecting property inventory, the median prices of single-family homes or condos, average days on the market, or even median price per square foot. You can also have the chart reflect either a 7-day or 90-day rolling average for single family homes, condos, or both! Another awesome feature about this application is that you can choose the size of your chart, so if you want it to be accessible to people on mobile devices or the right size for people to post on their blog, you can do so. You can select which quartiles you want to show on the chart and the timespan you want to represent, and you can even link the chart to a separate URL, if you’d like. The numerous options and easy-to-use wizard makes this application one of the best ones available for sharing market stats on your Facebook business page.

After you create the chart, you simply type in a synopsis of what it means above the finalized chart, and select which of your Facebook pages you’d like to post to. Then you click “Share” and the chart immediately gets posted to your wall for all of your Facebook fans to see! There’s no easier way to get up-to-date, accurate market stats on your page, and your Facebook fans will love seeing what the current market looks like in their area. It also shows your expertise in your industry, and it makes you look like you’re on the cutting edge of what is happening in the market in your community. These things are both incredibly important when you’re marketing yourself as an agent, and you can accomplish it in under five minutes each time you post a chart to your Facebook!

This application does have its drawbacks. The fact that you have to be an Altos Research user in order to use the application is an inconvenience, but since this service is becoming increasingly more popular amongst agents in the industry, more and more people are able to use the application! Altos Research is incredibly beneficial to an agent, as it creates market reports for your geographic area that are updated weekly, which you can then add to your website and share with your community. Their Facebook application is just another way for you to share market stats with an even bigger group of people.

The Altos Research Facebook application provides an excellent service for real estate agents, and we highly recommend taking advantage of it, particularly if you already have an account with them! Not only will you share local market stats with your ever-growing Facebook community on a regular basis, but this easy-to-use application will make you look like the most knowledgable agent in your area. Growing your online presence and being a community resource on Facebook is important, but it’s also important to remember to share what you know about your business with your network! The best part is that your Real Estate Virtual Assistant can set this up and implement this in your social networking strategy for you.

Make it a great day!
