Where do you keep Your kids?

Where do you keep Your kids?

A few years ago, like maybe 5, I was working around the yard, cleaning out the gutters and stuff. (homeowners, make sure you clean our your gutters. If you don't own a home yet, visit www.EricMichaelOnline.com and contact me!)

Well, I got the greatest idea! Put my daughters on the roof (of the garage, not the second story) and take a picture of them. Before you start telling me how "dangerous" this is, I put couch cushions all around it, just in case.

My girls

While I was up there, they kept asking if they could come up. After a couple times, I got them up there for the picture.

My wife still thinks I'm crazy. How 'bout you?

If you want a house to put your kids on the roof, or Not!, give me a call. Or email. Or FB message.

I can help you have memories like this!

Eric...

PS. One of my daughters put the headline in spelled like that. I didn't notice until a couple of people told me.

Eric  - I am not sure what benefit a couch cushion would have for a child falling off a roof (even just the garage roof) but personally I agree with your wife and my husband was reluctant to let our teenage grandson help take the leaves off the roof of our summer hideaway.

Eric....though I would spaz-out when our then 8 yr old son would run around on the roof [tri-level-home], but your girls do look so adorable up there & all of you have great memories, starting with "Daddy, do you remember when you put us on the roof and Mom......"  Oh the great memories.  [don't go for a rerun this year though.
Have a great week.

Kathy, I didn't really put couch cushions on the ground. That was totally for comedy.

Barb, thanks, they are cute, aren't they?

Eric...I only have one child, and we call him danger boy, a stint on the roof would have been a mild task, we like to kayak class 5 rivers, ski out of bounds in the woods, and swim with the sharks. good luck with the girls.

Eric, one of mine decided to try that once.  While he was out there (unbeknownst to us) a policeman passed by and asked my son if his parents know where he is.  He answered "sure!  They sent me up here (to clean the gutters)".  Next thing we knew the patrolman was ringing our doorbell with my son in tow.  We were lucky we weren't charged with child abuse for endangering the safety of our child.

Angels on the angles?

We were always on the roof as kids, and no one ever was hurt.

I was always on the roof as a kid. We had a trellis covered in vines that was easy to climb up so it was almost a hideout for the neighborhood kids. We never worried about falling off... maybe we should have though!

Lets shake things up at your home today!

I can relate.............when we were kids, every year on the 4th of July, my Dad would take us up on the roof of the garage so we could watch the fireworks.............it was awesome, and so was He!  Great memories you are creating with those beautiful girls Eric.

Cute pic...my brother and I played on the roof as kids, so I'm probably not the one to be shocked into being the safety police. Pretty girls.

Tammy, c'mon. It's no big deal.

Steve, we played tackle football in the street as kids.

Leah, I'd rather keep the local authorities out of this.

Melissa, it was just innocent fun. I thought the wife was gonna pass out.

Shirley, like I told Leah, let's keep the authorities out of this.

Leslie, thanks. I didn't notice the "angles" part until today. My daughter did that on picnik, actually, and emailed it to me.

Torgie, we used to jump off a garage OVER a Power Line and into the neighbors pool.

Roger, we watched the fireworks from the roof a few times, too.

Susan, thanks! They're off now. I promise.

Amanda, thanks. Maybe we're doing an injustice to our kids by trying to protect them as much as we are?

Elizabeth, that's why I put the youngest in the middle. The other two were told to hold her down if she tried to get up.

E-I don't have children, so that should make me an expert in the field of parenting.. :)  When I have children, obviously the most important thing is safety and health, but next to the obvious, I know that my top priority will be that they are independent, self-sufficient young adults when they leave the house....so yeah, I think children are protected way to much in some areas and not given nearly enough attention in others.....my "expert" opinion.
