30 Days of Marketing Opportunities - Day 2
My goal is to write 5 days per week for 30 days. So I've started this series that I hope to motivate me to write. 30 Days of Marketing Opportunities will give you 30 projects or tasks that your Virtual Assistant can handle on your behalf, generating leads that will ultimately generate more income for you! These are tasks that do not require a lot of high-end skill but, instead, require some time (hence the reason your Virtual Assistant should handle these tasks, not you!) and attention to detail. Join me on the journey!
Day 2 - Syndicate Your Blogs
Syndicating your blog is simply the process of sending the blog's RSS feed out to multiple websites simultaneously. This will give your blog additional exposure that you may not typically reach from your current contacts. Syndication puts your blog feed in front of other people, in places where they can easily subscribe to your blog.
To syndicate your blog, first find the RSS feed. On your ActiveRain blog, the link to your RSS feed is located beneath the Archive list of your monthly posts. Click on the button that says RSS 2.0 and capture the link. Then, submit the feed link to multiple feed burning sites such as:
* feedsubmitter.com
* search4rss.com
* digg.com
* technorati.com
* del.icio.us
* stumbleupon
* reddit

30 Days of Marketing Opportunities Series
Day 1 - Short URLs
Thinking about using a Virtual Assistant but not sure if you're ready? Contact me for a free consultation! Want to take a Virtual Assistant for a test drive? Try a 5-hour starter block for $20/hr!
Rebekah, are you referring to sending the link out to multiple social media sites at once (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, etc.)? If so, you have several choices:
- ping.fm
- Hoot Suite (my personal favorite)
Let me know if you are looking for something different.
~Renae
That's exactly what I was looking for Renae. I use Hootsuite and love it but wasn't sure if there was a better or more efficient tool to use. Thanks again!
You're welcome, Rebekah. Let me know if you have any other questions.
~Renae
Renae, trying to figure this one out. Does it take the entire blog, or can I select the specific blogs that I want to go out. And it starts with RSS feed: Live bookmarks. I don't want to take specific action until I know the answers.
Renae, I enjoy your tips, but your post(s) can sometimes end without fully conveying how to use the information shared. Your tech tips tend to be a bit confusing; it would be helpful if you offered additional examples and details.
Ok, Cindy, let me try to explain a little better. Syndication does take your entire blog and categorizes the information contained within each post so that people who are searching for information on becoming a millionnaire in Orange County will find your posts. Consider Google. When someone submits a search on Google, they put in the phrase "become a millionnaire in Orange County" and up pops a ton of websites mostly containing that phrase or information regarding that phrase. Syndicating your blog is like setting it up for search engines for people who want blogs, podcasts, etc. to stream to them - they get the concise information they require and ONLY the information they have requested. Tell me if that makes more sense or if you need me to explain anything else further. Also, are you unable to find the link to your RSS feed?
~Renae
Hi Mike. I appreciate the feedback. Unfortunately, when I post these tips, I haven't really been writing from the standpoint of teacher to student. I've really only been providing a brief overview, not a detailed explanation. As a way to engage readers, this provides an opportunity for them to ask questions and get answers to their specific inquiries. On that note, please let me know if there is something you explained from this post. (Perhaps I already answered for Cindy.) But if I haven't answered, please do let me know what needs to be clarified as I don't want anyone to read my posts and walk away without a full understanding of what I was talking about.
~Renae
Renae, Love the 30 Day Marketing Ideas, I am going to try some of them. Thanks,
Here is a link to Day 10. It has links to all of the first 10 days of marketing posts.
~Renae
Great information to know. I will be using the syndicateing blog information today.
Thanks again.
Renae, I just stumbled upon your 30 Day Marketing Opportunities and think they are great! Looks like you are almost finished too. Good for you! Will be working on this one for myself. Thanks so much for sharing!
My marketing guru is trying to get me to do this, but he and I are so busy that there’s just not enough time to do everything I’d like to do.
It's so easy to do, James, and provides you with valuable information on the marketing of your blog posts! Let me know if you need any help. You'll be glad to do this!
You're quite welcome, DeeDee! Hopefully you'll find some others that you can take advantage of as well!
That's why you need a VA, Jim! (Notice, that's the first thing I said in my posts - These are tasks that do not require a lot of high-end skill but, instead, require some time (hence the reason your Virtual Assistant should handle these tasks, not you!). #imjustsayin

You can also syndicate your blog from Active Rain (and your Twitter Tweets) onto a wordpress blog if you have one. :)

I don't want to blow your mind, Evelyn! I just want to fill it up with some great ideas! :-)
LOL, Cyndi! Let me know if you need anything clarified!
~Renae
Thank you for sharing although I do not see the RSS feed you are talking about. Has this changed with the new system in place?
