Cotati is a small town with a population of 7,300 give or take. So when a new restaurant opens, it's BIG news. I couldn't wait to dine at Brixx Pizzeria because they have a pizza on the menu with a warning label. Now that's MY kind of pizza!
Brixx Pizzeria, located in the center of downtown Cotati, has a great selection of beers on tap as well as bottled beer. And their wine list is much better than I expected. An application is in the works for a liquor license, hopefully that will be granted later this year.
We ordered the Diablo Gamba (Devil Shrimp) pizza with chipolte pepper, onion, cilantro and mozzarella. Underneath the description are the words in bold letters ... warning: the diablo gamba is VERY spicy. Bring it on!
We also ordered and split The Wedge salad, which is an iceberg wedge with Point Reyes Blue Cheese dressing (yum), diced tomatoes & bacon. Everything was fresh and the bacon was cooked to perfection.
We added a couple of beers to wash it down and as much as we tried, we ended up taking two slices home. The pizza WAS spicy and delicious, even more so the next day.
The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. The menu is an assortment of appetizers, sandwiches, salads and a large variety of pizzas. Think about dining at Brixx Pizzeria the next time you are in Cotati!
