Well said. I was surprised to find out last week that there is something like 204,000+ Americans buried in Europe after those wars.  I guess I was never told the number or our level of commitment there was never pointed out before this particular email.  The people of Europe can never say we didn't help them fight for freedom.

Todd, great tribute, I too feel a national pride and respect when I make a trip to my dad's place of resting on this special day of rememberance. All the flags say it all.

Thanks for a great post.  My thanks also to all the men and women who served and are serving.  Amen.  Lyn #23 - your response with all the numbers gave me chills and is sad indeed.  I am going to the Field of Heroes in Columbus / Westerville tomorrow to take pictures - over 2500 flags put up by the Westerville Sunrise Rotary.  www.FieldofHeroes.org.  I will post my pics to share.

Thanks for everyone that served their country and especially those that paid the ultimate price.  We enjoy our lives and way of life to all of our National Treasures-Those that served.

I thank those who gave their lives - and those who risked their lives. We owe our freedom to our Veterans and we should remember that every day of the year.

There is not really much to add to what you have said.  I hope you have a good weekend and do something good for a vet.

So thankful for what they have sacrificed for us!

Those sacrifices should never be forgotten & our service men & women should not be foresaken.

This past Saturday I was in Denver for one of my granddaughter's high school graduation. Seated about three rows in front of me was a young Marine Private missing both legs just below the hips and several fingers. His life may not have been lost but it was definitely and permanently changed in ways that none of us can ever make up to him.

More importantly than just observing Memorial Day is to lend a hand everyday to those who have served. Even in the small town where I live the opportunity is there in the form of a Veteran's museum, http://www.historymuseumeot.com/itow/, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBDxJnQk8Mg, http://www.chinapost1.org/, and in other communities there are usually, VFW and American Legion Posts where needs are known.
