Needing Some Feedback...
As most of you know, I run two businesses, a home inspection company and a photography company that focuses primarily on real estate. As I am wanting to grow the photography side more, I am looking for ways to make the product better for my customers. So I need some feedback from you, my ActiveRain critics. Below is a YouTube video of a listing I just shot and the link to the listing is as follows: 6326 Sunnywood Dr.

What do you like about the video and what don't you like? The same goes with the webpage. Please be brutally honest. I will not be like my friend Craig Rutman and unfriend you or unsubscribe. Your help would be greatly appreciated ~ Much Grass Amigo, Much Grass...

Michael - I'm not a big fan of most videos (usually they are wobbly or too fast). This was very good except I think the lighting needed to be punched up a bit. The fan was distracting but not hugely so.

First let me say that I can't even do this....

Here is what I saw.... 1) your music needs to start at the same time that the video does, and 2) Change the words from "lighted breakfast room" to Sunny Breakfast Room.

Like I said I can't even do this but I do watch a boat load of TV...

Michael, your photography and presentation is great, if I have any criticism, it might be directed towards some of the captions... for me, "light kitchen area" and "roomy kitchen area with granite" could be changed .... the eat-in area is spectacular with its cathedral ceiling and I am sure there are better phrases that could be used for the kitchen.  Very minor, and perhaps it is just me...

HA!  Too elevatory!  The music that is.  But, again, the client is the client and if she/they like it, then go with it.

Can you push the button for 13 please?

Mike,

I like it and any changes are really not very substantial. I'm going to send you a private link to a video I produced using Animoto. Really easy and it has some very interesting templates. I find that it gives the video a bit of a personality.

Having recently unsubscribed and un-friended you, I'm late to the party! So sorry for the late response here Michael.

Kidding aside, here's my critique/ opinion:

1. When I shoot my videos, I try to show a non moving still of the room first and then show the pan of that room.

2. I would make the subtitles smaller, in black, at the top of the page and only show them on the still shot of the room.

3. I would lead off with the kitchens and master bedrooms first as they are the rooms that typically sell the home.

Other than that, I think it's a wonderful video and an asset to your clients.

Good Morning, Michael. I have read all of the above comments, and I don't really have anything to add. I do like Craig's suggestion of starting out with the Kitchens and Master bedrooms. I just want to know what are you using for your virtual tour with the YouTube video? Like Lenn said, the music was great too.

Hi Michael, Nice video. I agree with above about adding some stills - though I am not a fan of random pan and scan on stills. Maybe a little lower on the tripod to exclude some of the ceiling. Overall looks good. What camera are you using? - that's a nice wide lens!

Hi Michael~ I would agree with others that adding stills to the video gives a better feel for room layouts. No fans whirling. I think the succession should be, start at the front of the home and work your way around from the entry to the right all the way through the home, even a two story.

I would let the clients set the tone for the music, since music is so subjective. There is also a gentleman who advertises in Active Rain to do voice overs. He was in radio for many years and has examples of his work here in Active Rain!

Michael- if I'm repeating someone, I apologize but could only skim the other comments.  I would turn the fan off as well.  The video is good but the kitchen appears dark (need some lights... not your fault).  Overall , and again, not your call or maybe it is... the property could use some staging to add warmth and color. Wouldn't take much at all.  I would also make the subtitles smaller.

I went to the link and it looks clean and neat.

Michael, you've received some good tips.  Overall I think you did a great job.  Watch those windows though - they can really do a job on the eyes.  Also don't forget to 'unclick' the box to show related videos after yours finishes on YouTube... Thanks for supporting VBloggers!

Hope you have a terrific week!!!

There is nothing that hasn't already been said about the videol. In case you're keeping tabs, I agree that some of the words on the titles could be changed as indicated above.  I clicked on the website but it appears to be unfinished or the site is having problems loading pages.

Note to Amy: IF my videos looked like this, I wouldn't be all wigged out about vlogging!!

Not bad Michael. We liked the speed of the presentation. If we looked for a negative it would be too much ceiling show in many of the rooms. IOHO

Michael, unlike James and Roger, I liked the fan on in the video...I thought it added 'homeiness'...I think you did a good job and this is coming from someone who used only one video for a listing in probably the last 5 years...Keep at it...Enjoy your day.

I liked the video, Michael. Length was perfect for short computer attention spans; steadiness made it easy to watch (my bad!) While I got a sense of the layout, I still don't feel like I know the house completely. And to me, the fan was a distraction; perhaps a slow speed would invite someone to sit and stay a spell!

The bedroom is the last thing I want to see first.  Could you do the layout as if you had just started walking into the house  as that is the way that most would see it   Round off with reminder at the tail end what the best room is and remind them of it.

Okay, I'm going to admit I didn't read all the comments...but many of the shots need to be lower...most consumers care what the floors are (hardwood, tile, carpet) and many of yours have more ceiling than floors.  The only other thing is it needs to show the backyard...critical in my market.   The pictures themselves and the timing on them were excellent.

Watched the video. Nice and smooth, could have had some close up shots and maybe the backyard and patio if they had one. It was a nice tour.

Good morning Michael;  I just got back from a mini vacation, so that's why I'm late with this comment.

My first impression was;  Lighting excellent, movement perfect, looking for some voice over narration of feature points, and would like to see more of the grounds.  Curb and street view.

Regards, Ken
