Duct Tape Shingles 3 Duct Tape shingle 2 Ok, so I guess most of us have heard that old adage that "duct tape fixes everything". However, most of us don't take that legend as truth. Surprisingly, somebody must have lived by these words! I guess they did take special care to match the tape to the already present shingles. I do have to scratch my head and wonder what made this a "good idea".

This patchwork would never have been detected from the ground. Surprisingly, there was more than one "shingle" on the roof that was found.

I haven't seen that but I have seen seranwrap caulked over a broken glass pane, as a repair (not a temporary patch).

Than, even the home buyer sent an email and asked "Is that really duct tape?" Yes Sir, it is! lol He couldn't believe it.

Lois, I hope it wasn't a repair man, and I did finrd evidence of leaks in the attic and into the ceiling.

Robert, that my friend is one I haven't seen... but I'm not surprised. As home inspectors we see the most interesting things.
