Just Because I Like To Cook . . . Doesn't Mean I'm a Chef
As I was in the kitchen fricasseeing the other evening, I had a thought: Gee, I like to cook.
What do I like about cooking:
- Planning for the feast -- which includes who I'm cooking for: me, or a friend, or a group of friends, or family, or bringing a delicious side to a potluck.
- Organizing the ingredients- do I have enough vanilla, meat/fish/chicken, pepper, corn starch? In order to make the perfect dish, the ingredients should be available (and fresh, if possible)
- Experimenting - sometimes my best meals are things I toss together with what I do have on hand.
- Tasting - how does it taste??
There's so much to cooking, and since I'm the type that likes to cook I get a real sense of doing something I enjoy, and having fulfillment -- in more ways than one.
But just because I like to cook . . . does this make me a Chef??
Not by a long shot.
Chefs are trained in the "CULINARY ART" and there are schools for this art -- from renowned prestigious ones such as Le Cordon Bleu in France, to the entertainment elements of Chef Gordon Ramsay's MasterChef TV series.
And toss in the specialty areas of: restaurant design, dining room service (manage a restaurant, cafeteria, club, hotel food services), food & beverage, food stylists, food photography, food writers/critiques, research and development, sales, instructors . . . oh the list could go on.
And to quote our own Lenn Harley, warning: ** HARD CORD REAL ESTATE TALK **
JUST BECAUSE . . . folks can search listings, find out property taxes, do a Zillow search, watch HGTV, call a listing agent on a FOR SALE sign . . .
. . . DOES NOT A REAL ESTATE AGENT MAKE!
Sorry, it had to be said.
A well-seasoned real estate agent brings A LOT to the table! When buying or selling a home, why not have your OWN personal chef representative?
