I've Been Keeping A Messy Office Lately

You know I haven't been in the office for over three weeks now, so I'm cleaning it out!

Office2

Here is my current filing system.

Office3

Isn't it nice the way the cleaning crew took such care to place things in a fashion that I could inspect my belongings? When I finally did get to return to my office I had a Police escort to get there. To make a long very angry story short my Broker told me if I wanted anything from my office I had better get over there as it was being thrown out. Never mind that I had been there twice in two days with my trailer and each time I had been told by the Police that I was not allowed in the evacuation zone. My boss knew that yet he did this to me anyway. Never mind that he had the movie theater to clean out and an entire mall that was nearly vacant... NO... he had to have the crew start at my office and to start before I could even get there.

Well I guess that I'm in the market for a new office and a new Broker.

Here is one more item to take note of. I called Pitney Bowes and told them that the machine I had rented from them for four years had now been under river and sewage water for 3 weeks. I told them that the wrecking crew tossed it in the trash. I told Pitney Bowes, a Billion dollar company, that I lost all that I owned, my office, my home, and most of our possessions. Pitney Bowes said I owe them a brand new machine and I would be invoiced for $1,000.00. I protested and asked for a supervisor... she told me to send the $1,000.00. I emailed the company... they told me to send them $1,000. I told them that if I had a $1,000. it would be used to replace my childrens toys and to buy some school supplies... they said "send US the thousand dollars.

I spent a half hour with rubber gloves and a respirator and I found their postage machine.

I'm sending it back... collect.

Pitney Bowes

It's been over 3 weeks since this flood adventure had started and we still have not even been able to see our home yet as it is still in standing water. We received a letter from FEMA today denying our claim because we have not asked them to come inspect our home yet. If you are from FEMA let this blog post be a standing invitation to snorkel on over threw the muck and sewage, we will join up in about two weeks when we can walk to the house. One thing I've learned thoroughly... thing can always... and do.. get worse. HOWEVER, there are a lot of GREAT people out there among the crowd of schmucks. I'm glad that I am a member of a great family of believers here in the Rain and at my church home.

Bob, oh my goodness.  I thought at first when I started reading this there would be a joke involved, a punchline of some sort but aside from sending back the postage machine collect, I realized how sadly true the post was.  I know friends of mine here in Fairfield have gone through hell with FEMA during floods and flood damage.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Wow.

I hope this marks a new beginning that brings you great prosperity and a caring, new broker. You deserve it.

(This makes my pitiful little week pale by comparison. I am not going to complain anymore. Much.)

Bob, you really do keep a messy office.  I guess deciding to float things around the office wasn't such good practice.  :)

Hope you recover well and soon from the flood.  Let us know when you can get in to your house!

I'll keep praying for you!
