Don’t tell my daughter, but I’m actually missing her!

This summer has been an unusual one for me! My oldest daughter is starting to get to that age where she has overnight camps, not just one, but two. First was her Girl Scout camp and then she came home for two days and then has left again for young women’s church camp.

My daughter at Girl Scout Camp

I hope she has fun, but I do have to say I miss her sense of humor around the house, she is actually getting pretty darn funny and she even laughs at my jokes from time to time when no one else will. (No I really miss that – lol)

So, hope she is having fun, but I will actually be glad when she gets back.

There's such a special bond between a daddy and his little girl!  I spent many years as camp director, cook, lifeguard, you name it, at YW camp. the absolute BEST OF TIMES!

Todd, you have to keep the kids guessing to a point.  If they know your every move...you have lost.

Great photo, Todd!  You clearly have great kids and I really enjoy reading all about them.  Just wait until she is 16!

So glad your daughter is getting to experience these activities. Adjusting to these kind of changes can be tough for us parents. Give her a big hug when she gets home and relish the times ahead, because they just fly by.

Todd,

Our Amy did everything, we ended up with a National Merit Scholar, Honors College and third in her law class.

Keep up the good work!

On another subject. I got a little Arab mare when I was ten I rode her until I was thirty and never once wore a helmet.

That's what happens when you home school, you actually miss your kids when they are away from home. My oldest leaves for college in three weeks. Because she was home schooled her whole life, I'm used to having her around. I will miss her so much when she's gone. Fortunately, she'll be 5 hours away. Close enough for a weekend visit.
