If you're like me, you're competitive, busy and @ times overwhelmed w/life. And as perfect as we try to be, we're not. Sometimes we walk around with our fly down and sometimes we accidentally trip while walking in a public place. "It" happens.
So there's this local competitor that I love to hate (mister x) He's actually a pretty good guy, but I still dislike his presence because he's beaten me out of a listing on more than one occasion.
A few weeks back I attended one of those walk around and look at me seminars. If you've been to a seminar you know that you exchange A LOT of business cards with vendors, other industry types and "contacts." During the seminar I ran into mister X, the competitor this blog is 1/2 about. He had the nerve to hand me like 3 of his cards, as if I'm going to give them to my friends and family or something.
The seminar was 5 weeks ago.
I have a little slot in my car where I typically place random cards from all types of people. Underneath that stack are my own set of cards. This morning I greeted a seller and while I was getting out of the car remembered that I need to grab a couple of my cards. When I got to the door I introduced myself and handed my seller to be 2 of my cards.
During my listing presentation the husband chuckles and says.... did you color your hair and get a tan?
I had given them my competitors business cards by accident. To make matters worse, this agent had a listing not far from their house.
Maybe this is why Mister X gave me his cards. He was hoping I'd accidentally give them out, and I did.
