When Are Two Heads Better Than One?
or
How To Keep Yours While Others Are Losing Theirs !

Two Heads are Better Than One

In this case for sure, two heads are better than one! ( A special thanks to the zebras for posing and inspiring this post)

In the real estate business and finance, I also think it is true. So where do find that second head? One of the best lessons I have learned from Michael Russser ( Mr. Internet, A World Acclaimed Public Speaker, Renowned Real Estate Trainer and Author) was that if you really want to be successful, having collaborators and assistants is essential in this day where providing  excellent service and state of the art information in your business can make the difference between success and just getting by.  Michael's "OnLine Dominance " training is state of the art and once you are one of his students, you remain so for life.

Michael Russer developed systems to utilize virtual assistants and a training program for real estate professionals to change the way they think in order to change the way they perform and accomplish the tasks required for business. Michael not only shows what to do but he also shows you how to utilize the resources of these virtual employees instead of wasting time just hiring and training employees. When questioned about it, he explains it this way.

In order for you to fully achieve your perfect dream in life, that being, having enough business to have what you want and also the time to enjoy it, you need to fully understand the dynamics of your perfect dream. Will an employee ever fully embrace your dream and help you achieve it? Only up to a point, if at all ! The missing element in that equation is that if they are helping you achieve your dream, who is going to help them achieve theirs?  They will help up until the time that they realize that they are not able to live their own perfect dream  and then you will start over, find and train another employee.

The larger answer to this is out there and it is the value added resource of utilizing a Virtual Assistant. They will most often cost you much less than an on-site employee, you will have no employee records or withholdings to deal with and each of you are then able to achieve your own perfect dream. I found it quite an enlightening and mind expanding training. Most Virtual assistants are already specifically trained and ready to execute the tasks that you want and need done in the way you want them done. Micahel's Book, "The Obsolete Employee" is a compendium of ideas and concepts that once embraced will change the way you do business. Not only will your business model change, so will your productivity.

Two heads, independent of each other but working together are definitely better than one!

Hi Gary, Using a virtual assistant is one of the easiest things we could do. It starts by recognising that others can do we can do and sometimes do it better. Then it follows with an interview to select the one or ones you want and the last step is deciding the tasks that need to done and how you want it done. It is easy and very effecient. The real estate virtual assistansts are already trained so they are ready to act when you say " go".

Richard,

I don't currently have an assistant, virtual or otherwise, but I'm rethinking that. It doesn't make a lot of sense to be doing tasks that don't require a license...and don't pay the bills.Rich

William,

Love the zebras and yes two heads are better than one; I am so lucky that I can have my hubby who we discuss and throw ideas out to each other! Our combined ideas more often than not are better than the original.

William: I too think the way we all work is going to change soon. Even jobs like mine I think will soon be by assignment and we'll all be (more or less) contract workers who work by assignment as independents. Two heads are definitely better than one and what I love about what I do is the collaboration. There's nothing more powerful than a small group of people that work as an ensemble. I'll check out The Obsolete Employee. You can't get there alone. Thanks... (oh, nice photo of the zebra's!)

The two head thing is a very important concept!  I remember working in my first real estate office and having a great broker that said, "You may not have all the answers, but you likely know people that will have answers you will require.  Communicate with your circle of knowledge when you have unanswered questions."

My math is little different - for me, 1 + 1 = 11.

Had been student of Mr Internet and really learned a lot from him - perhaps that's the reason this equation is!

And, of course, as always - great picture.

William, this has definitely been a very inspiring photo for you... going into an unexpected direction for me. I agree, there is a point where the real estate professional cannot do everything anymore and it's time to get some help!

William,

Another excellent blog. The virtual assistant does look appealing especially for specific social media taks. Now I need to find one who I can trust. Thanks for writing a really good blog and the picture is as always excellent.

Thank you for commenting on my real estate recovery in Houstin blog..

I always enjoy your photographs.  I should be using a Virtual Assistant today.  My website needs to be updated, among other things.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Yolanda, I think collaboration on most of the creative parts of our business is essential. When it comes to the practical applications needed, Virtual Assistants ( or a cooperative and willing spouse) can fill that bill nicely. :-)

Hi Alexandra, Thank you for the great comment. I am glad you have one (VA, that is) . What tasks do you assign?

Thanks René, Collaboration is a very good way to come up with the creative aspects for industry. But for the practical application that need to be implemented, VA's will do an out standing job. Glad you enjoyed the headless ( or at least they appeared displaced, LOL) zebras.

Excellent, excellent, excellent. Katerina Gasset uses virtual assistants and just talked about it today in her webinar.

Anyway, I'm bookmarking to come back and look up Mr. R at a later date--now I'm off to gaze at your hummingbird photo!

Yes! I do believe it's true - two heads are better than one. Maybe if we had two heads of state, two U.S. Presidents, two Secretary of States, etc., etc., etc., maybe, just maybe there would be more problem solving instead of bickering and disputes over who is right and who is wrong.
