Labor Day Weekend has been Cancelled

A couple days ago I was in Costco and saw a few Christmas lights and decorations out. Last year I think I blogged about how they were out before Halloween. Now to think they are out before school even starts is pretty pathetic. I'm guessing next year they should have them out by Memorial day for the early shoppers. Can you believe this?

Every year it just seems to get worse and worse. This is actually a very big pet peeve of mine. They try to shove Christmas down our throats way too early, and by the time it gets here I'm fed up of it already.

Too early to think about Christmas but if thats what they can sell then I suppose they have to do it.

More opinions than you want to hear about.

The Christmas shopping season is divided into two distinct phases.  The first is the part where most of us can't believe that it has started so early.  The second is the part where most of us can't believe that it's almost here and we're behind on our shopping.

The folks with CDS (compulsive decorating syndrome) have been putting up their lights for weeks, and there's a mess of CDS folks.

Rob - the commercialized version of Christmas is for kids ..... so around our house the tree goes up a few weeks before and comes down by new years

Well, it is after all, about us obediently fullfilling the role for which we were born.  That of "consumer".  If we all just stop buying stuff when they try to shove it down our throats, maybe we could re-program them instead of them always trying to re-program us.

Malcom: I'm with you on this one.

Chuck: Agreed on the part about to early!

Corine: You are my kind of shopper.

Mike: Our whole family is so fed up that we just take a trip together and pass on getting gifts.

Kathy: Some times we even skip the tree.

Leslie: I like your plan!!

It does seem to come out earlier and earlier each year.  I think that October is plenty early to have them out for sale.

I'm thinking maybe this is why it feels like the years are spinning past faster and faster.
