Stanislaus County Short Sales - All Work And No Play - No Way!
What's the old saying about all work and no play? Working Stanislaus County Short Sales can be stressful and frustrating at times. As I write this post I have been on hold for nearly 10 minutes with one of the major banks. I'm just trying to get an update on a short sale. The music they play on hold doesn't help either.
Back to the all work and no play. This past Friday I took the day off and with my girlfriend I headed over to Santa Cruz Ca. My previous post was all about the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. This post is about the free Friday night concerts at the Boardwalk. The stage is set up right on the beach. And did I mention the concerts are FREE and admission to the boardwalk is free too! This years concert lineup has featured bands like Eric Burden and the Animals, Loverboy, Gin Blossoms, Average White Band and the one that we went to on Friday, Eddie Money.
The process to get good seats (or a blanket on the beach) is a little complicated. The gates to the boardwalk open at 6am. At that time you can go down to the beach and stake your claim on a spot. But if you want to sit on the beach right in front of the stage that area is still roped off at 6 am. For that there is another line. You can leave your beach chairs or blankets in that line. At 4 PM they open up the seating for the area in front of the stage. Luckily I have a friend that lives in Santa Cruz and we were going to meet her and her boyfriend for the concert. She was the lucky one to be there at 6 am and stake out our place in line.
We got to the beach around 3 and joined our friends in line. At 4 we staked out our spot in the beach about 20 feet from the stage. Now all we had to do was wait until 6:30 for the show to start. Once the area in front of the stage was all filled up we could walk up to the boardwalk and have an adult beverage or two, since none are allowed on the beach.
Eddie Money put on a good show. He played all of his hits and interacted with the crowd too. His guitarist was really good too. It was really cool to be sitting on the beach and watching some good old rock and roll. Did I mention that there was a second show by Mr. Money at 9pm? Of course we stayed for that one too. The second show was pretty similar to the first and we heard a few of the songs twice. What I thought was cool was that just about the time the second show started the fog started to roll in off of Monterey Bay. It wasn't real thick fog but just enough to give the show a different atmosphere than the first one that started out with the sun shining on us.
So while I keep pretty busy with Stanislaus County Short Sales and haven't had a vacation in quite some time I do make time to take a day or two away from it all every once in a while.
