No matter what part of the country you're from, that makes good common sense and it would be great if people did get together once in a while on stuff that really matters. Nice thoughts that translate to everyone.
It is good to have a common interest and get heard!
Agree 100% Greg - strength in numbers
Active Rain is a great community and we do have voice.... I hope that things will change with Redfin.. I think it is very misleading. One can do fewer transaction and be a MUCH better real estate agent.
Okay, I have a proposal. I talked to AR head office and they can't get behind any one agent's pet project because too many others would want the same treatment. I think Greg's post about unity is fantastic and we should collectively think about what we could do that would make a difference. This isn't NAR or AR, but us, the community.
I wrote about one bipartisan energy efficiency project that would benefit from a letter writing campaign, even using a semi-automatic letter writer. A few thousand letters and we might be able to turn on a spigot for tens of thousands of energy conservation from California through Texas and up to Maine.
I'm sure many more of you have great ideas that would benefit from a community shove. I'd love to be an active worker bee helping our community stay united and get stuff done. It's fun!
I nominate Greg as our first Uniter in Chief for this great post.
Thank you kindly, Dave. I would write a letter for your cause, have it notarized, stamped and signed in gold ink if you asked.
I love rolling a small pebble into a big ass boulder.
Lets do it!
Strength in numbers always works!
Nothing kicks harder than when you mess with people's pockets. You see their colors really quick.
Strength in numbers can really kick some booty! I agree with Loreena!
Nino, if we could just find this same passion and unity for the state of our country...
Hmmm I wonder what it was that did it though... The CEO Redfin having to go get his tires changed out several times a day because Random agents (within the Redfin company I might add) kept slashing his tires.... Or the whole box of tampons in his gas tank absorbing all the gas put his car at empty.. Or was it his dog getting kid dognapped and the ransom note made out of magazine clippings that pushed him over the edge...
Greg - A valid point. I also like Dave's idea of using the community to look at what we can accomplish and what needs to be done.
Yes we stand firm when we believe in something for sure. Love it when everyone works together and something gets done!
Good point Greg. I've seen good responses from large number of agents when NAR or CAR do their "Call To Action" for political points. Perhaps all that energy could go toward other worthy projects.
You are right, when people get behind each other on an issue, it makes a HUGE difference. This Redfin thing certainly did cause quite a stir with agents. Glad it was finally removed.
Associations like ActiveRain are able to stimulate action far better than NAR. Oh well, perhaps we will get a new, "Now is the perfect time to buy a home commercial" soon!
You are so hot when you are passionate!
