Where do you live? Can you afford to live in a city that boasts: "Triple-digit monthly parking fees, $12 movie tickets, clogged intersections and weekly grocery bills that rival some mortgage payments"?

Neither can I.

According to Yahoo! Real Estate's article "Most Affordable Places to Live Well"the above statement describes cities such as New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Well, thank goodness I live in one of the Top 10 Most Affordable Places to Live Well...

ATLANTA, GA

Ranked #10 in the country's "most affordable places to live well, Atlanta (and the other 9 cities) offers a "similar or better quality of life...where the dollar goes far(ther)."

Judged on factors such as housing affordability, cost of living index and quality of life (schools and healthcare; poverty and crime indexes), as well as cultural, leisure and sporting options, other Top 10 cities include Minneapolis, Indianapolis and Cincinnati (1st, 2nd and 3rd, respectively).

According to the article, "More houses have sold in ATLANTA over the last five years than just about anywhere else in the country, and it's the nation's fastest growing city of more than 5 million people."

Great information and thanks especially for the link.  Personally, I'm for lower humidity summers, but all of these places are worth a look.  In fact I see that with proper efforts more business will be migrating to all these areas because of the affordability and quality of life.

Hi, Keith! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Yes, the humidity can be killer. I grew up in Florida - and whew! the heat! But we're keeping our fingers crossed that this article and the one we posted yesterday that Atlanta is in the Top 5 Markets Where Home Prices are Rising will help to buoy people's spirits about our market!
