Just a couple of weeks ago Jeanean Gendron started something amazing. She received the book "The GO-GIVER" by Bob Burg and John David Mann from her broker and was so inspired by the gesture and the book that she decided to share it with her Active Rain family. Thus, the group The Active Rain Go-Givers was founded.

I had "The GO-GIVER" on my to-read list for awhile and Jeanean's invitation to join the group was my call to action! I set out to purchase the book which turned into a little challenge but with a very happy ending. Bob Burg and John David Mann stopped by my blog - which is really just a little dot on the world wide web - and left some very kind comments. They have also emailed us and called Jeanean to discuss how to best go about promoting the group as an Active Rain group without implying any affiliation with "The GO-GIVER"!

"The GO-GIVER A Little Story About A Powerful Business Idea" is not just a book, business idea and novel. It is a gift. A gift that is meant to be shared with others. That was the thought behind Jeanean receiving the book from her broker which in turn inspired Jeanean to start the group and which inspired me to start The Active Rain Go-Givers Circle!

I read the book - the same night I finally tracked down one copy. It is one of those books that keep you captivated, once you start reading you will not be able to put it down. It is inspirational from beginning to end. I would love to share it with as many people as possible and I hope you are on board with the following:

                THE ACTIVE RAIN GO-GIVERS CIRCLE

On Monday, January 9th, 2012, I will send my copy to someone in my Active Rain family to continue the circle. That person has about 2 weeks to read the book and then send it on to someone else who then passes it on after another 2 weeks ... and so on.

I'll be writing another blog next week in which we can keep track. When you receive the book please leave a comment on that blog to let us know who received it and whether you got copy A(ndrea) or J(eanean) in your hands. Please do not tell us whom you'll be sending it to! Just pick a person from Active Rain you feel would be inspired by it. Please keep it within the Active Rain family!

We are hoping that you'll get as much out of Bob Burg's and John David Mann's book as we have and will want to share it. If for some reason you do not have the time or have no interest, please just send it on to the next person! We are operating on an honor-system and trust that everyone will put it in the mail.

Eventually we are hoping to complete the circle. Considering that Active Rain has almost 219,000 members to date that should take a very long time - but that's the idea! The more people can benefit from it the better! Just as long as it finds it way back to me before I retire :-) 

Feel free to get inspired and to purchase another copy for yourself and/or your family and friends! Please also explore Bob Burg's and John David Mann's "The GO-GIVER" community online or even join them at "The GO-GIVER Retreat" in April 2012 in Florida! It can't be anything short of amazing!

You do not have to join The Active Rain Go-Givers group but we would certainly welcome you! We would also love to hear from you and your thoughts on the book! Please make sure that these blogs are Members Only! It is not our intention to reveal so much about the book that "outsiders" (as in non-AR members) don't think to purchase it anymore!
