Motivational Power Quote
Confidence is the Result of Preparation
“Confidence doesn’t come out of nowhere.
It’s a result of something . . .
Hours and days and weeks and years of
constant work and dedication.”
Roger Staubach, football player
As I see it . . . . . . .
Confidence is the result of preparation
Confidence at the root level is having the self-assurance that you can do what has to be done and to do it with excellences.
Malcolm Gladwell hits on a very interesting concept in his book The Outliers.
In the book he explains the philosophy of 10,000 hours and for a person to reach excellence in their area of expertise it will take about 10,000 hours of preparation to reach that level of excellence.
He gives the examples of entertainer, professional athletes, artists, business professionals, inventors and many more who have invested 10,000 hours to achieve the breakthrough in their profession.
If you have not read the Outliers I would highly recommend the book.
The key point on having confidence is being prepared. As you prepare yourself you are preparing yourself to succeed. In the moment that it’s most needed you have the confidence to go to the next level and succeed.
