The Challenge of Choosing TOPICS for Blog Content

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Best Homes Hawaii RB-13537

As a part of the 2012 BIG Jumpstart Back to Basics Blog Challenge, CONTENT, this is a quip about how I have been choosing TOPICS for my blogs.Time to think Kaneohe

1> MAKE A LIST - or "talk amongst yourselves".  I brainstorm with myself and write down a list of ideas, the goal is to write down a list of at least 30 different topics and not get into the content details.

2> CATEGORIZE - group the Ideas into main TOPICS

3> LOCALISMS - I realize that Posting to Hyper-Local Pages / Localisms are the PRIME candidates for GETTING SEEN on Search Engines, so I try to work that into the scheme of things.

4> PUTTING it TOGETHER - after 1,2,3 then I begin writing at least 2 or 3 blogs and save them when I am ready to post.

Bruce, finding something to write about every day is difficult, but having a plan makes it much easier.  Great list to follow.

Bruce, great idea.  Having a plan will certainly make my writing much easier.  I'm new to AR so this hits home for sure.

I have snipits of posts all over my desktop of my computer... I have ideas and start blogs but sometimes it is a long time before I right the blog.... Ideas aren't my biggest problem, it is the time to write more.

Sheila, I keep my blog notes written down on my NOTE PAD (in the computer) in plain text then convert when I have the idea more complete.
