The Wonders of Nature, Close Up and Personal

Wonders of Nature

Nature is such a wonderful inspiration for life. In the macro world of photography, one gets to see things up close and personal in ways not as easily  appreciated without the camera. As kids in science class, we learned where to look for many of life's small creatures but as we age, we seem too busy in our larger world where the small things in life are mostly ignored. Unless that is that they are in our homes. Then of course we take after them with a vengeance. Otherwise mostly ignored.

If that has happened in your life, don't allow life of the small things to pass you by. Spend an afternoon in your yard or a park and see how many of these small creatures you can find and look at them carefully. Doctors speak of the complexity of human life and much of it with all our science is still a mystery and the same is true for all creatures. But it doesn't take a Doctor or scientist to discover this world of mystery in your own life.

The very question or recognition of the mysteries of life itself will add a wonderful and wholesome value to your own life.

Good Friday morning.  I love your advice.  All of us need to take closer looks at the beauty provided by nature.  Have a great day and an outstanding weekend.

Be sure to have your camera in hand to capture those special moments when you are out and about in your community or during your travels.  Life is better when there are flowers to photograph.

Great butterfly shot. I need to start taking my tripod with me. I have a little tabletop one and a big tripod, but I seldom remember to bring them.

HI William,

Great shot of the butterfly and the flowers. You are so right and I have found that ActiveRain has helped me to stop and smell the roses so to speak. I take photos and I appreciate the world around me vs. just selling real estate. I see the world in a new light. It was always there but I just didn't see it.

Lovely photo, William. I enjoy my butterfly garden and in the spring the hummers come and we sit and watch them. It is a special time when you can slow down and see these wonderful creatures going about their business.

Hi Margaret, I love the way you think. One of things I find so remarkable about you is you waste no time arguing with yourself about what actions in life to take. You prove the theory that procrastination is usually a waste of time. You are that " Can Do " person that "Does" !

Hi Peter and Linda, They will come ( never soon enough ) but they will come. Thank you for that wonderful compliment. Being good at most things require lots of practice and I am thankful that I can work it into my business life and still be productive. With each new endeaver, the passion grows to learn and be better each time. It doesn't always happen but I have it in mind to always try.

Lens envy!!!!! Oh my this is great on many levels. I need a macro lens...well I need other stuff more so...maybe next year. Although, maybe we will sell a lot of homes! Yeah...that would do it :-)

Hi Pat, Thank you for the very nice compliment. All over your area are stunning examples and you have captured many already. As Spring rolls around I hope you will show many more things unique to our Nations Capital and I am sure there will be many treasures to share.

Hi Susan, I would so have to agree with you. I recall many times being on the golf course where I live with my girls plaing in the grass and the micro world proved to be quite active. I especially like streams and rivers. The activity is really extraordinary. A little tough to get down in the muck to capture it but it is there for all those that want to take a look. Probably for those kinds of shots, they would be just as interesting if we let others take them, :-)

Hi Joan, I think if I had read that in someone else's post I would have noticed it more than realizing that I said it in mine.

Hi Mona, You mean missing the forest for the trees? I seriously doubt it. :-) You strike me as being so cognizant of the whole world around you.

Hi Gary, That is exactly how I see it. When I was at the Pedestrian Bridge in Downtown San Diego, it has an over beautiful design and can be appreciated for that. Up close, some of the design details are even more stunning. I took some detail close ups of the bolts and the support mechanisms used and the photographs were really pleasing.
