Twitter and tweeting is now associated with technology. However, the twitterpated sounds of the male Black Capped Chickadee is one of the sweetest tweets you’ll ever hear.
It’s not the familiar “ chic-a-dee-dee-dee” we often associate with the fuzzy little birds. Instead, it’s referred to as the “fee bee” song - a thin repetitive whistle uttered by males during the breeding season.
This morning, when I took the dog outside, I was greeted by a “fee bee” song. It reminded me of the sounds of nature, and its pure, simple and sweet tweets. It’s also a sound of early spring and its twitterpated creatures.
Please enjoy approximately 40 seconds of nature’s and Black Capped Chickadees'
sweet tweets.
