Are you staying focused? Staying motivated requires your undivided attention to your goal.
Here's a short little story that will illustrate this point. There have been hundreds of motivational speeches given by coaches in the locker room before every big game. When you compare each of those speeches side-by-side the underlying message would be the same. To be successful, we must stay focused.
Jimmy Johnson, former head coach of the Dallas Cowboys in 1993 was quoted as saying, “I told them that if I laid a 2 x 4 across the room, everybody there would walk across it and not fall, because our focus would be at we were going to walk that 2 x 4. But if I put that same 2 x 4 10 stories high between two buildings only a few would make it, because the focus would be on falling. Focus is everything. The team that is more focused today is the team that will win this game."
The key to keeping your motivation moving in a forward direction is to not be distracted. It should be no surprise that the Dallas Cowboys one that Super Bowl by a score of 52 – 17.
The lesson here is to keep your eye on the prize and focus on your dreams.
