The Department of Fish and Game (DFG) has made it easier for you to catch fish on a lazy spring day. The Department has added approximately 16,000 catchable rainbow trout to numerous ponds throughout the Sacramento Region. The DFG is 14 trout hatcheries statewide to consistently provide trout to more than 2,000 bodies of water. There is probably many near you!

These areas are included in the spring planting of catchable trout in February and March of this year.

I was in Alaska recently, pretty impressive fishing there David.

Locally, these are some good spots in the Sacramento area.

I'm sure the Mid-West is great, but I'd have to get up way too early.   :)

Tom, now you have me thinking of taking some time off, but this has been a busy year so far.  Need to make it while it is there.

Tom - Sacramento, besides being a beautiful place to live your area has so many fishing holes to choose from you could fish at a different spot each day! I grew up fishing with my dad and loved it all, including taking the fish off the hook. Was and still am a Tom Boy at heart!

You sure don't look like any tomboy that I know Kristine. :)

Sacramento does have a lot to offer the fisherman, I didn't even mention the Sacramento or the American rivers. If only I knew how to fish...

This is valuable information!  The last time I went fishing, I didn't dunk a worm, but watched Elizabeth Weintraub, as she did.  She didn't catch a thing.  I felt guilty because she's from Minnesota (the Land of 1000 Lakes), and I had taken her to Nimbus, and she got skunked:-)

That is hilarious Myrl. I hope she will make it back to try again. You'd think she was a better fisherperson....

Just kidding.
