So I'm sitting here with my wife doing work. She is watching some flick about Marilyn Monroe and I'm contemplating life and my future with every step of all I do. In the meantime, I'm reminiscing about my childhood as my two boys are camping outside right now with their cousins. My oldest boys are 13 and 11, and their cousins are 14 year old twins. For me.....it doesn't get any better than this....
Thanks for your post, Larry. I lived in Hazelwood, MO for a while and went to St. Charles once in a while. Some of my fondest memories were camping with my family in the Ozarks in NE Oklahoma.
You should have a s'mores party with your backyard campfire. You'd have the whole town in attendance.
Hi Larry,
Great camping picture and it looks like everyone is enjoying the fire. I like the new photo on the top of your blog too. These are the important things in life, and good memories after they are grown.
What a great age to be a boy Larry. Those are special times for fathers like yourself. Enjoy everyday that you have together.
I am impressed that with that much activity going on that you have time to reminisce about childhood or anything else. You are a true multi-tasker:-)
We had a giant bonfire this weekend. It was work for me, cleaning up a dead tree, but the boys had smores and got to 'play with fire' without getting burned.
I have never been camping. People cannot believe it when I say that. Definitely something I need to remedy because it looks like fun!
Being there would be the better thing, but remembering all the good ol' days is always good for the soul.
Larry, I love it! Your kids are at such a great age. Nice that they spend time with their cousins too!
Larry, it does look like working from home would be a bit difficult! Camping is a joy no matter what age!
Larry,
It's nice that they are so close in age and obviously get along quite well. What great memories I bet they'll have of these days together!
