Sometimes when performing Feng Shui home assessments or projects with various other professionals on hand, after a lecture or even at networking events, this seems to be the comment of choice, "I thought it was only the Chinese Culture that practiced Feng Shui?" I write this questions in a more appropriate way than how it's usually phrased.
Knowledge is power and it helps to clear up any misconceptions. Yes, Feng Shui originates from China and dates back about 3-6,000 years. The practice of Feng Shui is nothing new. The fact is, as a world we are finally waking up and recognizing the importance of how to address our land and home to coexist with nature and the surrounding energies.
Human nature needs to categorize life events, people, animals, environments, practically everything in order to understand it's purpose and untimely not to be afraid. Feng Shui is the art of living, the art of understating that life is not categorized. It goes beyond the square box that we so carefully place everything within.
So when someone says, "Your not Chinese why do you practice Feng Shui?" Please remember, it's not about the color of your skin or your religious background. It's about the person who wants to simply live a fun and peaceful life, to grow as an individual, to understand their own purpose and tasks that need to be accomplished. There are so many avenues that have not been walked yet in this lifetime and Feng Shui is another tool and gift that has been shared with ALL OF US to maneuver through life with greater wisdom and ease.
