GOOD MORNING HARRY! ARE YOU STILL WORKING FOR XXXXXXX COMPANY?

CONTACT WITH CLIENTSI received a call from one of my investors the other day asking if I still work for my present company. He said he has not heard from me in a while and would like to give me two more properties to manage. First, I was shocked that he would ask me this question since I just sent an Email with a question to him with a reply back. So, it got me thinking that Email is not enough to be in contact with clients.

I asked myself the following question WHAT MORE CAN HARRY DO TO STAY IN FRONT OF HIS CLIENTS We should be asking this question to ourselves on a routine basis to ensure that our clients are fully informed that we are OPEN FOR BUSINESS.Furthermore, it just shows that we all live busy lives nowadays. So, I thought it was a fair question.

Now, I am putting together an action plan when it comes to communicating with my clients on a more timely manner.

  • Distribute monthly company newsletter to keep informed about real estate and property management rules and regulations
  • Phone calls on a more timely manner to say hello and to mee their current needs
  • Thank you cards for referrals
  • In person breakfast and/or lunch face to face meetings
  • Connect on Facebook, Linked In and others social media mediums
  • Clients sign up to my daily blog posts

I believe this is a list in the right direction to keep my clients fully informed and to let them know that I am

OPEN FOR BUSINESS

PLEASE SHARE YOUR CURRENT PLANS IN STAYING IN FRONT OF YOUR CUSTOMERS.

WHAT IS WORKING OUT THERE RIGHT NOW!

Hi Harry... Let's see... we send calendars, just sold cards, just listed cards and over 6000 quarters letters with houses that sold in the leads zip code... keeps us pretty connected... also make calls when a house sells on their street... Happy day!

I've resisted posting owner statements online.  I still e-mail owners with their cash flow statements as an attachment and I personalize the e-mails.

Good afternoon Harry. I have found FaceBook to be great for staying in touch with my clients. It keeps us on a personal list as well as professional. I don't post listings or harass but I do comment on their posts and so far they seem to like that.

I going for the personal touch and am making regular telephone calls to my past buyers and sellers. Many buyers have asked for a market analysis, wanting to determine the market value even though they are not in considering selling at this time.

You have to stay connect to your clients and referral partner. I was blown away recently buy one of my referral partners, a financial planner that sends me a lot of business. He called asking me for a referral for a mortgage brokers in NH. Wow, I thought, how did I screw this up?

I know he has my business cards as I keep all my referral partners well supplied. I asked him to read the front of the card. After doing so, he said, OMG, you are licensed there. I am licensed in all of New England, NY & FL. We closed hin loan Friday.

You post is so very true.

Harry ~ great action plan to stay in front of clients. A similar thing happened to me recently and I was so surprised! But is was because I had been neglecting him. So my fault for not being proactive!

Harry,

Yes, we definately want our past clients to know we are still open for business.  Without hitting them over the head, the items you have look great.

All the best, Michelle
