ActiveRain Etiquette Dilemma

Reblogger George Souto
Mortgage and Lending with George Souto NMLS #65149 FHA, CHFA, VA Mortgages NMLS #65149

I feel John's pain and dilemma.  For a long time I was able to keep up with the comments on my blog, but lately that has become very hard to do.  So it has become a choice most days to either reply to comments that others make on my blog, or comment on the blogs of the ActiveRain members that I follow.  The choice lately has been to comment on the blogs of ActiveRain members that I follow.  It is a tough choice and it is a dilemma, but it is one that we each at some point will find ourselves most likely having to make.

ActiveRain Etiquette Dilemma

ActiveRain ,Etiquette ,Dilemma, John McCormack, Realtor, Albuquerque Homes RealtyI hope you understand my ActiveRain etiquette dilemma.  Personally I have always believed  it is very import to reply to comments left on my posts.  It’s like having a two sided conversation and a way to acknowledge that the comments have been read.  In the past you know I typically responded to each comment.  I always read each and every comment on every single post and greatly appreciate them all.  With the real estate tides turning and being more on the run with business I have found myself in an ActiveRain etiquette dilemma.  There just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day.  If you know me, you also know I try to comment on each of your posts daily because I really enjoy seeing what you’re doing and what your saying in the Rain.  I’m not one to just get in my 10 and call it good.  Please don’t think I’m ignoring your comments, I’m not.  I just figure it’s better to read and comment on your posts and give you the glory than using that same time to comment back.   I’m betting I’m not the only one having this ActiveRain etiquette dilemma but I wanted you to understand my reasons.  If this troubles you please let me know so I can make adjustments to my protocol.

George, you are right  -and it's a better idea to comment on other posts. A dillema for sure but that's what I'd do, too.

Good evening George.

I appreciate the re-post sir.  I consider a re-post the highest form of compliment and quiet the honor. I agree with Pratful and that's the action I'm having to take these days as my clients must come first priority.  I do try to leave comments on others posts giving them the glory and points.  Again thank you and have a great evening my friend.

John

I completely understand. I really enjoy my participation with AR, but there is just so much time, I can spend. I don't think anyone takes comments on their blogs for granted, that should be a given.

Oh I so share his/your pain.  It's a dilemma for me as well, esp as I've gotten so busy.  I'm now just doing a bit over 10 comments a day and can't keep up and I feel badly about that.

It is all about priorites as well, I see folks getting addicted to FB, AR and the like and see them writing about how bad business is.

George, because I've been so off the hook busy I find that sometimes instead of commenting to each member who comments on one of my posts I'll make a general comment to all.  I don't like doing that because I feel that everyone deserves a response.  However, I absolutely go back to their posts an leave a comment there.

George - It's definitely something we are all experiencing.  I had a Featured post recently and my first thought was "Oh, no, I'm going to have to spend hours responding to comments."  As it turned out there were only 8 comments, which had to be an all time low for a Featured post.  It's a very busy Spring market.  We should all be understanding of each other with regard to that.

I have had this problem for the last 2 years. This is the reason I am not nearly on the site as much as I used to be. It is impossible to do and keep up with work load.
