The freedom that we take for granted comes with a high price.

Richard- we cannot repeat your message enough.  Every day that we enjoy our freedoms and liberties is a day when we must pay homage to those who fought for them as well as thank and help their families they left behind.

Well said, Richard.  Every American owes a great debt of gratitude to those who have so willing sacrifice all so that we might enjoy freedom.  

As Thomas Jefferson said, eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.  Celebrating Memorial Day is a way of reminding us of that - through honoring those have given their lives in our nation's service, and those men and women who are protecting us now around the world.

Richard: This is a wonderful way to honor the fallen and show respect to their families.

Good morning Richard, I do honor our brave young men but I don't understand how sending them into other countries to kill people helps our freedom. I think it just creates more enemies for our country.

Richard, Memorial Day is a day to honor the many men and women who have fallen defending our Country. I visited with my Dad this morning at Arlington National Cemetery. A reminder of the men and women who have served.

Richard,  I wish I had the poetry with words to state what you have stated so very well.

So true.  The sacrifices made for us are often forgotten.  Today is the day to remind us of their service.

Richard - I think many do forget the price attached to our freedom.  It is easy to do when we don't see the sacrifices.

Happy Memorial Day Richard, Very nicely said and for too many living in our country today, there is a disconnect of why this remains so important. When sacrifice isn't shared, it is often not even acknowledged and just taken for granted.  

The ultimate sacrifice has been given to us so that we can badmouth those that fight for our Nation.  It is unfortunate that the biggest complainers are the ones that think we should roll over.

Sorry, I was at a service that had some protesters against war.

You are correct. Without the servicemen and women where would we be today.

Richard, it is so easy to forget the price that was paid for our freedom. This is an excellent reminder to us to be daily mindful of the sacrifice others have made on our behalf.

Unfortunately freedom comes at a price. It saddens me that our service men and women are not given the benefits they deserve. Yes, they should be honored everyday of the year. 

Sometimes we ignore the fact that NOTHING is for free... it costs Some One Some Thing! Freedom is no different.

Freedom is taken for granted these days.  If we really had some of them taken away..people would go balistic.  Many good men and women died for our freedoms, we should not take them for granted.
