I read a lot of books in and from the Eatonton Library

Tammy, I love to read books also. My oldest brother reads 2-3 books a week and always gives me the books after he finishes reading them.  After I read them, I give them to my sister and she gives them to friends....so they really get read and circulated.  Like you I love to hold a book and can not see myself reading a book with a kindle.

Hi Tammy, what a charming library that is. I can envision myself on those steps ... I soooo agree with you. I've been refusing getting a Kindle, I like to hold a real book and turn real pages. Much like my newspaper .. I got to sit in my chair with a cup of coffee. I stare at a computer screen for hours a day, I don't want to read the news or a book on one as well.

What a nice way to talk about books, the 'old fashioned' kinds that you don't have to upload.   And YES, I saw the Ambassador status too.  Congratulations Madam Ambassador!

Welcome to the Ambassador ranks, congratulations.  I love and read books in their original form as well.  Living in the Boston area there are so many beautifully built libraries in all the towns around Concord, Quincy, Boston, to name just a few are incredible buildings.  They all have WiFi right now, too, which is great when you are out of your office between meetings and need a place to connect if you don't have some internet card. Great post.

Great post Tammy!  My mother in law bought a kindle and loves it.  She reads it ALL the time.  My wife has her Ipad, but is like you.  She prefers to hold a book.

Tammy, I too love my local library and depend on them to save me money because I love to read. I have bought many books but prefer to use the library whenever I can.

Congratulations! I also love books.  I love the way they feel and smell.  When I was a kid I loved the summer because you could take twelve books out at a time.  I would walk all the way home  and couldn't wait to start the first one.

We have a wonderful new library here, and Chief Cook makes the most of it.  I just read the newspaper every day. 

And, Congratulations, Miss Ambassador!  That is terrific news.  And, you so richly deserve the honor.  Thanks for all you do!

I just read an article about the "blue light" from the Kindles and Nooks and even computers keeping people awake at night because of the distburbance of the light to our circadian rhythms.  Give me a hard back that I can fall asleep on top of anytime.

What a wonderful classical looking library, Tammy!  Each autumn with the arrival of the first rains, I usually shuffle down to our local library.  There is something special about a quiet rainy day, with nothing on the agenda but a book, a quilt, a log on the fire, and a cup of tea!

Hello Tammy, I hope you are not under the weather for long....I too love books and remember the summer reading programs when I was a kid.  There's only one problem, when I start reading I don't want to stop..the house could be on fire and I'd say "wait, just let me read one more page!"

Because of that, I don't get to read as many books as I would like.  Congrats on becoming an Ambassador and thanks for the photo of your library- those steps look like a great reading place!
