THE UGLY HEAD THAT CHANGES THE GAME

I am talking about the mistake, the defect or the problem that may or may not be known. In Real Estate, in purchasing goods or services, if something that is not welcoming or as promised shows up, then all the parties involved are affected and the game has shifted like it or not. The consumer or buyer does a WHOA as in stop horse...stop right here

GAME CHANGING DYNAMICS

Surprises in some businesses can be the KISS OF DEATH. Keep in mind to that there are no second chances or do-overs to win someone back a lot of the times. I remember the lady who found an insect in her salad. She went nuts because her mind was triggered after seeing the" bug" to think or believe the worse possible thing...she ate bugs all this time...yuck!

EATING BUGS IS A GAME CHANGER

Trying to undo that is daunting to say the least but has to be mitigated by management before this patron leaves the premises. The customer does'nt care that the preps in the kitchen didn't soak the greens before preparing them for service. When you represent something implied or expressed....that is your promise at work or in this case NOT AT WORK

NO RESPECTER OF PERSONS, PLACES OR THINGS

Same with just about anything you can think of that is for sale or being offered or even introduced. When DISNEYLAND first opened in the early 50'S, things went wrong. Some things were known and many were not. People couldn't get a drink of water as there were not enough fountains. Hot tar became loosened and trapped high heels. People could not go from point A to point B efficiently or effectively...Thankfully, these were not deal killers

TEST IT FIRST

Many times, before they roll out a product or service, they test it in kitchens and on employees before rolling out to the public. In Real Estate, the agent who is picking up a listing gets first opportunity to walk-thru and make the necessary changes to improve first impressions. If not, whatever value is being offered has been compromises

CHANGING THE GAME

Game changers can be good or bad. If good, then all will prosper accordingly and over time, whatever is doing well will be tweaked into a better, faster and cheaper mode. If it is a bad experience, the launch is jeopardized, delayed or tainted. We are now back pedaling and trying to clean-up or undo...This goes against the grain

Experience has shown that before introducing something, make sure it lives up to what is being presented....

Richie, we try to tell our sellers that all the time...you only get one first shot.  If it is priced right but not ready to show, you are better off to wait before proceeding with your product.  Get it right.

Richie~ representing something is only as good as the information backing-up the representation! Thanks for the huge reminder, "back-up your information or don't give-it!!!"(IMO) Great post!
