Although the spaces are small, the condos at Cinema Lofts in Pasadena are big on style. With its eye-catching presence at the Southwest corner of Marengo and Cordova, the complex is a unique addition to the Pasadena housing scene. Built in 2008, the 37 unit Cinema Lofts is somewhat of a scene stealer with its stylish architectural design.
Cinema Lofts offers modern design and small-scale living environments -- the loft-like spaces here are generally under 600 square feet with exposed ducting, concrete floors, high ceilings and the obligatory open floor plan. The units have many high-end finishes including European-styled cabinetry, mosaic tile accents and quartz countertops. Stackable-laundry connections are in each unit. Many of these one bedroom residences have outdoor spaces further enhancing the urban appeal of these residences. Parking is in a subterranean garage accessed off Cordova. There is no pool or spa and the landscaping and grounds at Cinema Lofts is left intentionally very minimal.
When it comes to location, Cinema Lofts is uber-convenient. Arroyo Parkway which leads to the Arroyo Seco Parkway and Downtown Los Angeles is just around the corner and both the 210(Foothill) and 134(Ventura) Freeways are easily accessed as well. The Gold Line Station at Del Mar -- such a cool station is a short stroll away. If you prefer to spend all of your time in Pasadena(and why wouldn’t you?) -- the options for dining, shopping, entertainment and all things cultural seem endless. Paseo Colorado, Old Pasadena, Pasadena Playhouse, South Lake....the list goes on and on.
There are currently two loft style units available at CInema Lofts. One, a bank owned unit, with approximately 550 square feet is priced at $338,000. The other unit is approximately 540 square feet and priced at $369,000. There have been two sales this year at Cinema Lofts according to multiple listing service records. Both were approximately 550 square feet and sold for $351,588(February) and $355,000(July).
In 2011, there was one sale with 643 square feet per seller - it sold for $338,000.
While small scale and minimal living may not be for everyone -- Cinema Lofts offers a great alternative for those who may be looking for a very cool spot in the center of it all.
