Over the past few weeks, our nation has suffered bad weather in the east and gulf and on 9-11 we had 4 Americans killed overseas. But this morning as I looked out my window and see the beauty of this hummingbird just looking up at the sun without a care in the world, I thought we must live life for today and appreciate the beauty around us.

No matter where you live, what state, rural or urban, there is so much beauty around us. We must stop and appreciate the beauty around us and be grateful for what we have instead of always wanting more…..and love one another. Be a good colleague, friend, mother, father, etc. to others.

I know the expression is sort of corny, but remember to ‘Stop and Smell the Roses’. No matter where you are, there is beauty to make you smile and appreciate life. Thank you Mother Nature for surrounding us with beauty.

I lightened my hair a little and I am a few years older too. I find it hard to smile and not squint. Thanks for the compliments on my hummingbird pictures. They are my favorite birds so I constantly strive to improve the quality.

Yes my little hummingbird was was looking up at the sun and saying "Thank you God for all the beauty around us". My hummers are so smart and I am going to miss them if they migrate but sometimes they stick around all winter. I will have to wait and see.
