Are you hoping to find a little something different to do today in the Greater Sacramento region? Then Effie Yeaw Nature Center adjacent to Carmichael’s Ancil Hoffman Park may provide the perfect opportunity, this afternoon at 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm.
Labeled “Critter Close Up,” folks can become acquainted with a couple of small animal residents at the center, while learning about the habitat and food they need to survive.
Admission is FREE - Parking is $5.00 per car.
Effie Yeaw Nature Center consists of 77 acres along the north side of the American River Parkway. In addition to a museum, the center provides self-guided interpretive trails - an opportunity for those interested in learning about the American River ecosystem.
The Center acts as a nature preserve for deer, fox, coyotes, squirrels, wild turkeys, rabbits, snakes, and a variety of birds. There are rattlesnakes in the area, so it is important to be cautious when you walk the area.
