Great tip Melissa! Who would have thought that one Google map could "put you on the map" (ie: on the first page of Google) HA HA! Thanks for sharing! Guess I've gotta go create some maps now ; )
Have a good day and a great weekend ahead!
Gina
Hi Melissa. I used to add Google Maps to my weekend Open Houses. Not sure why I stopped, but I plan to start adding them again, thanks to your post today.
Melissa, that is COOL. Nice job and thank you for including a link to the instructions - I will definitely have to retrofit a few myself.
Bless you, my friend! I'm adding this to my old and new blogs immediately.
Thank you for all of the wonderful comments. I let them get away from me and now there are too many to comment individually on. I have read each and every one though...
Here are some comments/questions I have about them...
Michael - I'm curious why QR codes are effective in blog posts? Wouldn't a link work just as well or better? I thought the primary point of QR was for print media?
Frank - Google Maps has several videos on map making. They might be helpful to watch. I'm not enough of an expert to try to teach others, but was able to be fairly effective in about a week's time.
Bryan - Why a new Google profile for the maps? Wouldn't you want all roads leading back to your main google profile?
Thank you again for all of the wonderful comments!!
I've done them for many subdivisions in my area but can't remember how they showed in natural search. I do know that it works. There are many tutorials here on how to do it for people that haven't tried it yet.
Thanks for another new lesson for me to utilize and help grow my business. Always learning and earning in the AR community.
Last year a client of mine moved to Florida and we both learned about CDD fees, for the first time.
Thanks for the great tip Melissa, and for sharing it with the rest of us!
Free Juice, I like it. We all need great tip, thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you again for all the great feedback. I'm glad it was helpful.
Sharon - I really had to do some study and research on them. They can certainly add to the pricetag of a home or condo.
Hi Melissa,
Good information, thank you. I will start using google maps in my posts now, I think I will go back and add some to my older posts.
nice tip...glad you rained it down here for all of us to see, gives great food for thought!
LOL...today I noticed one of my maps on the search results - #13 on page 1 for "Westchester hardwood refinishing" - that's for my whole county.,
I was not # 1 on the page, but I had slots 2, 3, 4, then 2 others (maybe 6 and 7) and then #13 w/ the map. It made me think of this post. The map had 12,000 views (I think because the posts I used them in had close to that # of views).
I've made a few as well but haven't gone back to take a look to see where they might be popping up in Google. Off to check now.
Sorry that I somehow got behind on responding to comments...
Steve - what took the most time for me was going back through old posts.
Mark - you are welcome!
Debbie - that is pretty impressive!
Cindy - what did you find?
Michael - I still don't understand QR codes online. Links seem better to me for that. When you are online it is visual. For me, QR should be for print.
