Sandy has a positive side too.

I have to admit, I'm enjoying the challenges of hurricane Sandy.  Just the fear of that name (sorry Sandys both far and wide) has closed our local schools, reduced the traffic in the community and has given me a good reason to hang out at home and relax.

After a few really busy months, a day off in the comfort of my warm home is like a gift.  My son and I did go out and check on a few people this morning (in our rain gear), and now we're kicking back enjoying the quiet and soft sound of rain tapping on our windows.

The pantry is full, the generator system is ready to roll if need be and storm has put most things on hold temporarily until it passes.  I don't mind a bit.  It's a nice day to blog, read a book or just sit by the fire.  It's all good.  Be safe out there folks, and for heaven's sake, use good judgment.

I'm backing up my office PC and getting rid of SPAM in my e-mail boxes.....takes a hurricane to get me to do some housekeeping chores!

Good for you Mike! We are having a movie marathon until the power goes out... we'll then continue with a board game marathon. Jody had to go into work but should be home soon. The worst for us.. my neighbor's ignored their broken gutter, their yard is already flooded and is beginning to flood mine. Wish I had gotten a hold of some sandbags!

On another note, I'm in the process of ratifying a contract .. thanks to DocuSign!

Have a great marathon, Andrea.  That sounds like fun.

John, I actually didn't mind seeing it come.  How crazy is that?  8=)

Mike - you sound like me and I also have a list of older neighbors who we will be checking in on. It's nice to have some time in the Rain and a day off! I downloaded 4 books to my kindle in anticipation of losing electricity which is sure to happen. The wind is starting to pick up as is the rain. Best of luck with Sandy - stay safe!

Thanks, Kris.  I finally have time to finish a book I've been nursing forever.  Be safe up there.

It has been a delightfully quiet day, Roger.  I could get used to this.  8-)

Thanks, Lisa.  It's always appreciated.

I was wondering how you were doing down there Amanda.  Stay warm, and enjoy your movies.  Give Walter a rub or two for us.
