Beautiful photos, Steve! Reminds me of a few old lake retreats around here of by gone days. Makes me want to sneak one out on those quiet waters and paddle around to see what I can see...

You need to start entering these at the local county fair or something contest oriented.

Hi Steve, Wonderful photo, just excellent. Thinking of boats, I heard today that the storm sunk the tall ship, the HMS Bounty off the coast of North Carolina. Of the 16 onboard, 14 were saved, i dead and the captain not found, presuming he went down with the ship.

Steve, That is a great photo!  I hope that you're far enough out of Sandy's Path that you won't need to use these boats!

I see William has mentioned the loss of the HMS Bounty yesterday.  That's a heartbreaker!  I hope you are surviving the storm ok, and staying safe!

As always, your pictures enchant!

Thanks Jeanne and Ralph. I appreciate your stopping in.

Bill, this was the day before the storm rolled in. Big change fast no?

David, interesting how these are iconic images with many folks.

Rene, indeed. I helped close up our boy scout camp stacking the boats when I was a kid. Good memories.

Thanks John, I am taking fewer photos and my percentage of interesting shots is getting better I think. Like everything else, practice makes you better.

Cheryl, you say the nicest things.

William, the Bounty struck a note with us. My brother-in law built one of the reproduction boats at Jamestown settlement in Virginia and we keep our eye on the tall ships. A sad loss but an amazing rescue no? Thank you for the feature. That is encouraging :-)

Tony, 100,000 in our area without power, regional flooding but we were spared the devastation of coastal MD, NJ and NY city.

Thanks Mike, I will try to make more good ones.

Thank you Meryl, enchant is a word seldom used in the same sentence with my name or in this case a pronoun referring to me :-)
