George, great idea for getting rid of the tree. I used to save my tree for the following year and torch it at midnight New Years.

George, in the past, the scouts here in Prospect would pick them up for a flat $10 fee. Leaving it up to arbitrary could be a cheap way for someone to just toss a buck and close the door

George  This is a great fund-raising idea.  It helps to dispose of the trees and at the same time raise money for the scouts!  :)

Nick I have never heard of that, but I think that it was a great tradition.

Ed you are right, but I hope that people have a little more respect for the kids and organization and do not do that.

Joan I think so to and hopefully they will raise a good amount of money by doing this.

In many communities the picking up of Christmas trees has been fund raising opportunies. The challenge for some of these groups is where to go with the trees once collected. Not as easy to dispose of them as it once was.

Joe, you are right we can't just dump things any more.  Hopefully they have thought of that.
