1. Get Centered. Take two to three minutes for mindful meditation. Simply focus on your breathing as you inhale and exhale, keeping thoughts to a minimum. This will reduce stress and release body tension.
2. Have a Balanced Snack. Every few hours you should be fueling your body. If you wait longer than that, your blood sugar and moods can crash.
3. Make a Change. Try something new! This will increase your adrenaline, even if it is a very small change. Go for it!
4. Take the Perfect Power Nap. Cool down 6 ounces of drip coffee with an ice cube and drink. Then lie down for a 25 minute nap. You will get into the early stages of sleep, but the caffeine will kick in about the time you are ready to wake up. If you sleep longer than 25 minutes, you will fall into a deeper sleep and end up feeling groggy.
5. Pop a Vitamin. B Vitamins are well known for helping your body break down food into energy.
6. Have Fun. Laughter is an amazing stimulant. Even anticipating a fun event, like a comedy show, can increase your body's production of mood enhancing hormones.
