Very often, you may find yourself standing in front of the refrigerator right after eating....What are you looking for if you just ate? Something is missing and food will not satisfy it. You keep trying to feed it so it will stop pestering you. You find out through trial and error that it doesn't go away......and then you eat again and again
WARNING: I am going to be discussing something that some people may find sensitive. It is not my intent to single anyone out, make fun of them, or judge them. This post......is submitted for our benefit......
When someone is out of their flow, when they are not in tune with themselves or their environment, they tend to compensate for that dis-order in other ways. Eating is one of the easiest things to do for the wrong reasons. Eating for the wrong reasons can keep you from your rewards, your potentials and your destiny.
Consider that:
1. Eating is fun and very satisfying in the moment
2. Comfort foods such as macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes or even potato chips make us feel good.
3. Eating can help you forget. Next time you eat, try staying in the moment while you are eating and see how your mind wanders..
4. It's a quick fix and a Universal one...eat something, you'll feel better......
5. It can have the effect of a sedative making you dull and too comfortable. the over-full feeling....yuck!
WE HAVE TO EAT.......!
By all means keep up your strength. Eating small portions through out the day will do that. Eat what is good for your body....NOT GOOD FOR YOU. I am referring to the Ego. It has its ways of controlling and rewarding you. Ice Cream, second helpings of anything, chocolate milk, candied apples, donuts, pastries, fats, sweets, all feed the ego first,..... then you. We, end up straving...for life
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO EAT.......?
Only when you are hungry and not when someone says it's lunch time or breakfast is ready. Eating when you are not hungry programs you to a bad habit. This habit, when it grows, just happens to show...an it is not your best side.
Rewarding children with food just sets them up to be motivated by eating....not accomplishing. You can treat yourself to certain goodies from time to time, but do it for the right reasons, know that you are doing it and do not make it a habit, but a once in a while thing.
IF YOU MUST EAT...THEN BURN IT OFF....OFFSET IT
Food should not be the focus of our every day lives. Do you remember ever skipping a meal because you were so busy either having fun or working hard? How about during an emergency, there is no craving for food, just action.. Go back to this. Keep in mind.....you can go without food for 30 days or longer. All I am saying is that reducing your intake will not kill you, but make you more aware.
Worth Noting: Police dogs, when being trained, are rewarded with "toy" time and not with food
Find the right reason to eat... Put eating in its place... Don't let it steal from you... Seek a greater reward...
Learn to eat to live properly....and not live to eat incorrectly. It takes time and discipline.....but is doable and reward-able to the inner portion instead of the outer portion
