Yesterday as I looked out my kitchen window, a hummingbird was at the glass enjoying the last flower on my plant. Also the feeders were empty and they come and pound on the french doors when they want me to fill them up.

Hi Endre,

I give most of the skill to my camera but did have the common sense to turn the flash off and still have time to get the picture. I had changed from red stuff to making my own and then other day I put the rest of the red so they had been ignoring it sicne. I just got through giving them new sugar water in their feeders.

Kristin~ I finally got a hummingbird feeder a few weeks ago. It's sitting on my kitchen counter. Maybe I need to take a moment and get the darn thing hung so I can see some of the "sights" out my windows!

Hi Donna,

And as a suggestion, I would suggest hanging some red ribbons on the top of the feeder and that will attract the hummers. I cannot wait to see some of your pictures.

Hi Mark,

I was just standing at my kitchen window and it flew up and hung around while I grabbed my camera 8 inches away, turned off the flash and got it. Then it came back later and kept bumping the window lightly as it wanted new nectar in the feeder. OK, so I went out and changed the feeders.

My backyard birds come and knock on the glass too and sit there looking at me " Fill up the bird feeders" so I go out and fill them up. Amazing they are not scared of me.
