Unique, Homemade Staging Inventory
As a NJ home stager I carry an extensive inventory of lamps, pillows, plants, art, bedding, ect. I’m always on the lookout for unique accessories. One day while shopping in Restoration Hardware, one of my favorite stores, I noticed their display shelves with dried box wood, (which I have) books and framed art. I loved the way it added a unique look to the bookcases.
This gave me a great idea. My mom has always loved to draw and is quite good at it (although she’d never tell you that.) The displayed art at Restoration Hardware was abstract (a little too abstract for staging) so I asked her to draw me 4 themed sketches so I could frame and use them in my staging.
Then I bought inexpensive frames from HomeGoods and scanned them so I could always print more up and use them again and again. This was the process...
This was a home I recently staged and used my mom's art in the family room's built-ins...
Since then I'm now using wall paper, contact paper and good quality wrapping paper in addition to my mom's art for all different looks and colors. This is a unique and inexpensive way to create your own art or add it to your staging inventory.
