Buying a home in the Mountains ?

If you are buying a home in the North Georgia Mountains what you do not know can cost you money. Here are some examples.

1 If you are getting a loan does your lender know about USDA. The USDA loan is usually a more cost effective solution when compared to VA or FHA. If you are moving from a different area and like your lender they may not be in a USDA area.

2 Look at your road . Are there fire hydrants on the road ? Chances are you are on a city or county water supply. Then ask who services the area for fire. The answer and the fact that you are on public water could save you as much as 1,000 a year on your home owners insurance.

3. If you are moving to the country to escape city life and have a home business, DO NOT assume you will get the high speed internet you were used to. If your business needs high speed internet check before you buy.

4. Look around you. If there is a lot of vacant land around you check out your zoning. You really don't want surprises later down the road.

5 Use a Mountain Realtor. We can help you avoid the mistakes listed above and many others

Would love to be buying a home in the mountains.  I live int he mountains as a child and it was one of the most wonderful places to grow up as a child.
