Eureka Springs Arkansas Day Trip
We decided a day trip to Eureka Springs was in order for a beautiful springtime day in the Ozarks. After a short 45 minute drive south, we arrived in this unique city built on top of numerous springs popping out at every corner.
After a quick pass through the winding roads we find ourselves at the Thorncrown Chapel, a glass chapel in the middle of the woods.
We find our way to the haunted Crescent Hotel, and take a look around this Historic Landmark. We did not see ghosts this time, but plan to stay there on our next visit.
We continued our adventure walking up and down the streets, peeking our heads in and out of the variety of shops.
About 15 minutes out of town on Hwy 62 you can find Blue Spring Heritage Center. This features the second largest (from what we were told) spring in Arkansas. This spring is surrounded by gardens and feeds into the Beaver lake.
If you like good barbeque, I think we found one! We ate dinner at Bubba's Barbeque, where the special was a unique combination of ribs and cheese ravioli, which was quite good.
After our bellies were full, we visited the suspension bridge just outside of town, and headed back to Branson.
Eureka Springs is unique little town with lots of things to enjoy. Eureka Springs is famous for it's Passion Play, on the life of Jesus. Check the schedule to see when they begin the play for the season.
There are so many things to do in the small towns in and around the Ozarks. These quaint towns, such as Eureka Springs, are perfect for a day trip or to spend a few days enjoying the scenery and the town.
