One of the trainers at the gym recommended a sports shoe store in Leesburg. I visited them and was very impressed. I was exercising/walking with an old pair of New Balance. No problem with the New Balance, they fit well. I had simply warn them out.
The folks at the sports shoe stores know their stuff. They have the machine that analyzes your walk. They can see your poor old bones in the shoes. That's what convinced them why I can't run, previous seriously broken foot.
Anyway, they fitted me up with shoes and I now have 3 pairs so I can trade off. I really don't want to wear the same pair every day.

I don't know about you, but as for me, I can get a tad weary of being pumped for information on my knowledge and expertise of the home buying and or home selling process and then having the consumer choose someone else or try to go it alone to save money, (insert eye roll anywhere in here).However, I really just found out, it isn't just us Realtors® that get faced with this day to day and it disappointed me a bit.I started training for an upcoming 5K..now to be sure, I haven't ran in a very long time. Once I got out of the Army I was pretty sure I was through will all things PT (Physical Training) for the rest of my life. Forget the whole idea that it's actually GOOD for you to get some exercise...the Army made me do it for 21 years and that was it for me....Except of course, when I had this hair brained idea to run a 5K...(actually I was gonna walk it and go drink beer, but my friend and fellow agent Ms. Kristin Moran with RE/MAX Access convinced me we could run it).So one happy morning I ran 2 miles and my knees were killing me! I just knew I had to get new shoes because I was not running with running shoes, just something I had picked up at another store. My friends told me to go to iRun Texas and get a consultation. At the store they would evaluate my walking and running and gate and then work with me to find the right running shoes for me...And then came the words...but Once you Get the Information, Don't Buy the Shoes There...You Can Get them Cheaper somewhere else"....I was a bit stunned. My friends (not Realtors®) said yeah, EVERYONE does it. Of course this didn't set well with me at all...and I bet you know why.Hey, I don't like it done to me, so why would I do that to someone else, regardless of whether I can save some money or not? It just would seem a tad hypocritical of me to set out to gain information, take time out of someone's day and then smile and leave with all of my information and leave the salesperson sitting there feeling a bit dejected.So, I went to iRun of Texas and Jess helped me by evaluating my gait and putting me in about 5 different types of running shoes. Seems that I run all proper (yay me), but I need more foot support. After about 1/2 hour or so I decided on a perfect pair of running shoes. Yep, they were a little pricey, but well worth the cost as my knees don't hurt anymore AND..hey, if the shoes don't work out, I can always bring them back and try again.Interestingly enough, I received a nice little thank you card in the mail the other day from Jess. She's at the iRun Texas at Stone Oak. It was nice to get, and reminded me that I need to do more of that too. So, if you are looking for a great pair of running shoes and need some consultation of what to pick, I suggest you go there :)!You see, it isn't just Realtors®..
