The wedding is history, and my little girl is now a Mrs. I'm happy to report it went well and both bride and groom are happy. Therefore, my attention returns to marketing this Fall, and specifically video marketing. Honestly, you just can't beat it if you want to get "found" on the internet. YouTube videos will help your posts attract attention - more of it - and you'll notice a faster ranking.
Here are a few video marketing ideas that caught my attention over the last few weeks in Active Rain.
Bob Crane has a video contest that is nearly over. However, if you hurry, you can still participate and get in your three short videos before the September 7th deadline. Here's more on that subject.
Karen Kruschka has also come up with a great plan - she is going to update the video on her new AR profile page every couple of weeks. That will sure keep her SEO juices flowing - and pique greater interest. Here are the details.
Remember, if you're going to take the time to do videos keep these basic principles in mind.
1. Use a tripod - steady does it. You'll turn off your viewers with shakey ( nauseau inducing) videos.
2. Capture movement - that's an important element that video has over stills. Don't video stagnant scenery. Capture the wind blowing, a train moving, waves rolling in...
3. Add music or use natural sound. If you don't have the equipment to capture or record decent sound...at least add a fun music track to emphasize your video - and help create a mood.
4. Branding! Don't forget to brand your videos. If you're making a connection - make sure folks know how to find you.
Here is an example of a wonderful little video with all of these princples incorporated.
