Ask an Ambassador: Sending the right message with your blog on Facebook
Okay, I will admit I get in a hurry and fail to do this on my Facebook posts. Tammy Lankford shows what a difference it makes and how much more attention it will create. I'm convinced so now it is only about finding the time to do.
I love when I get to showcase a house or a local business in my blog. It makes the sellers happy and it makes local businesses happy. But prior to the last Facebook change it sometimes seemed a little more like "self" promotion than it did showcasing someone else. Now there is such an easy way to get the photo you want to showcase your blog on Facebook.
Before when I'd post a blog there were times when the little arrows to change the photo didn't work and it was MY face or nothing. So sometimes I choose not to include a thumbnail. But the fact is people are more likely to click on something in their newsfeed if it has an interesting photo to go with the blurb. But sometimes all I could get was this...
And while my face might be click worthy to my Donald or even a few of my friends it's still "me me me" and not what I was going for and I couldn't get any other choices. Well okay, sometimes I could get the AR logo, but well I really didn't want that either.
After a little change by Facebook recently it became much easier to get exactly what I wanted to have there....
Note the "upload Image" button. You just click and wala you can upload any photo from your computer to be "the" photo with you blog.
This is the look I'm going for. I was writing about the Lake Sinclair fishing expert and I wanted Big Ed's photo and it's exactly what I was able to get on my Facebook business page. Later in the day when I posted that... I got the following text from Ed. When I called him to find out what page 1 I found out a local newspaper had "shared" my post on their page so it gave Ed a lot of traffic that day asking about where the fish were biting. He was happy and of course you know that Ed is going to send real estate questions to me right?
So take advantage of that little upload button on Facebook when you are sharing a blog to promote what you want to promote. I mean how cool is it that I can showcase any view of a house I want to on Facebook... even if it's a neighborhood post and I want to show off one of my listings there I can. Thanks Facebook for making it easier to promote the house or person I want to promote.
