Why I Attend Our Local Meetups

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Fran Rokicki Realty, LLC

Initially, I attended my first meetup, last year, to support a fellow Rainer, George Souto.  He has consistently, supported me.  I have held Broker Opens and he has traveled a good distance to attend.  I held an AR Meetup in Manchester, Ct at Frank Pepe's Pizza and he attended, as did Ed.  I have held client events, that he has attended. Once, in a snowstorm, he was the only attendee who made it through the weather.  I couldn't imagine being invited to an event he is hosting and not attending.  So, George, thank you for inviting me to join in for your meetups.

Through the meetups, I have met other bankers, agents and home inspectors (even from other states).  At the meetups, the information that is discussed in invaluable.  Social media tips, banking tips, staging ideas and even open house tips.  The time seems to fly by and before you know it, hugs are happening and the event is over.

Our last area meetup, in Ct, was at the Winery in Wallingford, Ct.  Yet again, I had the opportunity to meet Rainers that I hadn't met before.  Some were nearby, other members, drove a good distance to attend this get together.  Maybe, it's about sharing food and wine (any drink, really).  Sitting together for a few hours and being able to feel like the family that this community has created.  If it wasn't for Active Rain, I doubt that I would have met any of these fine people.

 Meetup in Wallingford, Ct

This was the fifth meetup that I attended.  I hosted one, myself.  I cannot recommend attendance, enough.  Be part of our community, online and offline!

Looking forward to the meetups that will be coming up, during the winter holiday season.   Hope to meet some of you then!

Kerrie,  We have become a networking family!  After commenting on eachother's blogs, it good to then have a conversation with eachother, in person.  Hugs are the best!

Frances, thank you for the very kind words, and it is easy supporting your events because you are a fantastic hostess.  Glad you enjoyed the Meet-Up and I look forward to getting together at the next one.

George, It is something I look forward to!  Just let me know when and what you would like me to bring!

Charles, Yes, it was nice.  New faces and a fiancee (the happy couple is on the left of the photo).  Connections are always helpful.

Glad you went.  So many don't bother to meet with others in the industry.  I think this is a mistake.  We're all in it together!
