Back in the day, when I was a partner in an advertising and marketing agency, we were challenged by a motel chain to come up with a catchy slogan. Hence, "You're gonna love it here!". As the presenter in our firm, I was excited about this campaign. It had all of the earmarks of a monster hit! I thought that it showed that they had a warmer side to their business which would appeal to a weary traveler. However, after several hours of debate among the board over whether or not the slang in our slogan reflected poorly on their image, I knew that it was a lost cause. Now you know why you have never seen newspaper, TV, and billboard ads saying "Your gonna love it here!" for a chain of motels. And, I am not sure if the chain of motels is still in business!
However, I have always loved that slogan, and forty years later I can now use it to advertise my beloved Hutchinson Island and the Colonnades! Just imagine, owning a condominium in Florida with your own boat slip just steps from your door for less than $200,000, on an island that is reminiscent of the old Key West. It offers every opportunity for your creative, social, and physical beast to escape. Fishing,boating, tennis, swimming, shuffleboard, acting, painting, whatever appeals to you, is in the Colonnades on Hutchinson Island, or close by. "South Island" as it is known by the locals and Ft Pierce are places that you should discover. I think that, "You're gonna love it here!" Yaaayyy! I get to use my slogan!

If this is the first time that you have read our blog, my wife, Pam, and I relocated to South Hutchinson Island after selling our last business in Maine. We have been entreprenuers almost all of our lives. After the Jimmy Carter era of high interest rates and banks calling in loans for write offs, we decided to "work for shares!" Anyway, we were fortunate enough to parlay shares into dollars so that we could fund our own start up companies. We have been involved with everything from fresh Maine Wild Blueberries, to insect repellants, to predator urines, to grilling woods. Now, our entreprenarial juices have turned to something creatively demanding but far less stressful, real estate.
